Range Safety

The single most important aspect of our shoot is SAFETY! All of the guns that you will handed on the line are legally owned fully functional automatic firearms. Our vendors and staff are well versed in the proper handling of these guns and will guide you through a safe and memorable shooting experience.

To that end here is a listing of then Range Rules which will be enforced for both shooters and vendors during the event.

Range Rules

1. CEASE FIRE, means CEASE FIRE. Don’t finish the mag/belt, STOP and CLEAR GUN IMMEDIATELY.

2. Eye and ears protection is required to be worn by all persons who are inside the barricade fences. Hearing protection is advised for those in the viewing area or in the proximity of the live fire area.

3. If you have a hang-fire, leave it in the chamber for one full minute.  If you still need help contact a range officer, KEEP THE BARREL POINTED SAFELY DOWN RANGE!

4. There will be no arguing with range officers about issues of safety. If you disagree with a directive, discuss it with the Chief Line Officer, but his rule is “the rule”. Range officers will try to be understanding, but blatant disregard for safety will result in ejection from the event with out any warning or refund.

5. Maintain control of your firearm at all times. Engage in aimed fire at the targets directly in front of your position. There is NO HIP SHOOTING and NO SWEEPING FIRE ACROSS THE RANGE.

6. All vendors should be “hands on” with renters and be “able to take control” of the gun if needed, even with experienced renters.

7. Only vendors shall handle and move guns off line, i.e. Vendors not renters will bring the gun to the line to fire. Move guns with barrels up or safely down range, fingers off triggers, belts/mags removed, actions open, guns “pegged” and unloaded until on the line ready to fire.

8. Tracer and Incendiary ammunition is NOT ALLOWED due to the potential fire hazard.

9. Live fire of 50 cal guns is not allowed on the range. These guns are allowed for non-firing display only.

10. Tripod mounted guns will be set for a fixed elevation.

11. Large Bipod equipped guns will be fired from the prone position. “Small fast” sub guns (micro uzi’s, etc.) must have fore grip (fake suppressor, etc.) to assist in maintaining control.

12. Hanson Town ordnance prohibits anyone under AGE 21 from shooting a machine gun. No one under 21 years of age will be allowed in the rental / live fire area. At a vendor's request you must must be prepared to show proof of age.
